PARENTS — YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY IN THE EDUCATION OF YOUR CHILD
DO:
1. Know your child’s friends.
2. Know where your child is when he/she is away from home.
3. Safeguard the physical and mental health of your child, provide for periodic health examinations.
4. Insure adequate rest for your child each night.
5. Arrange times and places for your child to do homework assignments and supervise the completion of them.
6. Encourage your child to participate in wholesome activities in the school and in the community.
7. Talk with your child about school activities; take an interest in your child’s progress in school and in his/her report cards.
 
TEACH YOUR CHILD TO:
1. Respect authority, the rights of others, and private and public property.
2. Obey the teacher and other persons in authority.
3. Be prompt and regular in school attendance.
4. Be serious about learning.

WORK WITH THE SCHOOL TO HELP YOUR CHILD:
1. Get to know your child’s principal and teacher.
2. Confer personally with a teacher or principal so that school and home can work together.
3. Support the actions of the teacher or principal in talking with your child about a problem; confer privately with the teacher or principal if the action taken is questioned.
