Parents - You Have A Responsibility In The Education Of Your Child
Below are some suggestions on how you, as a parent, can be involved in your child's life and education.
Do:
- Know your child's friends
- Know where your child is when he/she is away from home
- Safeguard the physical and mental health of your child, provide for periodic health examinations
- Insure adequate rest for your child each night
- Encourage your child to participate in wholesome activities in the school and in the community
- Talk with your child about school activities; take an interest in your child's progress in school and in his/her report cards
Teach Your Child To:
- Respect authority, the rights of others, and private and public property
- Obey the teacher and other persons in authority
- Be prompt and regular in school attendance
- Be serious about learning
Work With The School To Help Your Child:
- Get to know your child's principal and teacher
- Confer personally with a teacher or principal so that school and home can work together
- Support the actions of the teacher or principal in talkin with your child about a problem; confer privately with the teacher or principal if the action taken is questioned
