"Smart Talk"
Parental Support and Birth - 3 Years Services
Smart Talk is geared toward expectant parents and parents with children birth to 8 years of age. The major goal for this program is to provide activities and support services for children birth to 3rd grade and their families that will assure the children's future success in school.
Smart Talk activities are designed to enhance a child's physical, social and intellectual development with emphasis on language stimulation. The support program encourages parents to interact with each other and share parenting skills and experiences.
Smart Talk 0-3 Years Services
Smart Talk 0-3 yrs is a program that provides support for the development of children from birth to 36 months of age by focusing on the child and family through a network of child & family service providers. Smart Talk provides free developmental screenings and individual age appropriate activities for infants and toddlers to help them prepare for school. These school and home based services are determined by the needs and wants of each family.

Smart Talk Parental Education and Case Management Services are sponsored by West Harvey/Dixmoor Public Schools, School District 147, and provide services to the following communities: Harvey, Dixmoor, Posen, Markham, Blue Island, and East Hazel Crest.
Smart Talk is funded by a grant from the Illinois State Board of Education as part of an Early Childhood Block Grant which includes a pre-kindergarten program.
