Opportunity for Incoming Freshmen: District 205 CTE Summer Bootcamp

Thornton Township District 205, is excited to announce their Career and Technical Education (CTE) Summer Bootcamps. These programs are specifically designed for incoming freshmen to provide early exposure to high-demand career pathways and help ease their transition into high school.Camp Details & Logistics

All three district CTE bootcamps will be hosted at the Thornton High School.

Dates: June 8 – July 24, 2026. Days: Monday through Thursday.Time: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM.Location: 15001 Broadway Avenue, Harvey, IL.

Students can select one of the following themed camps to attend:

Bootcamp Theme

Featured Skills & Projects

Family & Consumer Sciences

Culinary Arts (food planning and preparation), Child Development (caregiving), and Fashion Design (sewing).

Industrial Trades

Automotive Technology , Electrical Trades , and Construction/Woods.

Advanced Manufacturing

Engineering, Manufacturing, and Welding.

Registration Information:

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis, and space in each program is limited.

PUBLIC NOTICE School District Public Hearing on Full‑Day School Improvement Days

Notice is hereby given that West Harvey-Dixmoor School District 147 will hold a public hearing on May 4, 2026, before the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting. The purpose of this hearing is to consider a request for a Full Day School Improvement Waiver. to allow the district to implement full‑day School Improvement (SIP) days.

Afterschool Supper Program

Greetings, West Harvey-Dixmoor Families & Community!

We are thrilled to announce that West Harvey-Dixmoor School District 147 is expanding our support for students by serving free supper meals as part of our afterschool and enrichment programming! Starting Monday, February 9, 2026, this program is open to all children in the community.

Whether your student is staying for activities or just needs a nutritious meal to end the day,we invite them to join us Monday through Thursday from 3:15 PM – 4:00 PM. Parents please be advised if your student is not currently enrolled in our Afterschool Program, they will need to be accompanied by a parent and/ or an adult at any of the following locations.

● Lincoln Early Learning Center | 14100 S. Honore Avenue, Dixmoor, IL

● Martin Luther King Elementary | 14535 Seely Avenue, Dixmoor, IL

● Rosa L. Parks Middle School | 14700 S. Robey Avenue, Dixmoor, IL
